Police arrest man for trespassing in West Reading store

Employees of a business in the 500 block of Penn Avenue in West Reading called police about 1:25 p.m. Nov. 19 after a man came in who had been told multiple times he wasn't allowed. Officers arrested him and he was later released, though police said they would charge him with defiant criminal trespass.

Theft suspect flees Wyomissing store

Wyomissing police received a call shortly after noon July 20 about a shoplifting suspect caught by store security in the 1100 block of Berkshire Boulevard. The man had stolen $119 worth of merchandise from the store. He ran away but police caught him a short time later on Woodland Road. The suspect, a 35-year-old Reading man, was charged with retail theft and defiant trespass and jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
