Police stop prowler in Wyomissing

A Wyomissing officer on patrol about 2:22 a.m. April 22 spotted two suspicious people prowling at Evans and Cleveland avenues. One of the suspects ran, not that it helped. The suspect who didn't run told police the identity of the fleet-footed person.

Police catch prowler in West Reading

About 9:42 p.m. Nov. 8, someone called West Reading police to report a man walking through backyards of homes in the 200 block of Olive Street in the borough. Officers arrested the suspect, a 49-year-old West Reading man, and charged him with public drunkenness and prowling at nighttime.

Reading man waives hearing on theft, other charges

A man whom West Reading police arrested Aug. 8 on suspicion of prowling in a parking lot in the 500 block of Reading Avenue in the borough waived his preliminary hearing Sept. 3. A charge of possessing instruments of crime was withdrawn but the man, a 32-year-old Reading resident, could face trial on the other charges of charges of loitering and prowling at night and theft. He was returned to jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

West Reading police received a report about 2:20 a.m. Aug. 8 of a man looking into vehicles parked in a parking lot in the 500 block of Reading Avenue in the borough. When officers arrived they arrested the suspect, a 32-year-old Reading man. He was charged with loitering and prowling, as well as possessing instruments of crime, and sent to jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Police find vehicle break-in suspect inside vehicle

West Reading police received a report of a man breaking into a vehicle at about 2:06 a.m. July 21 in the 500 block of Reading Avenue in the borough. When officers arrived they found the suspect still inside the vehicle. They arrested the man, a 29-year-old West Reading resident. He was charged with five counts each of theft and receiving stolen property, along with one count of nighttime prowling, and jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Man found in alley faces charges

West Reading police received a report of a suspicious man about 10:40 p.m. June 21 in an alley behind the 400 block of Sunset Road in the borough. Officers found the man sitting a vehicle that wasn’t his. He was arrested and charged with loitering and disorderly conduct. The suspect, a 63-year-old Reading man, was jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail.
